When Maryland law lets school start
Maryland no longer has a statewide start-date rule — a 2016 executive order briefly forced post-Labor Day starts, but since a 2019 law each county school board sets its own start and end dates (Md. Education Code § 7-103), subject only to the 180-day/1,080-hour minimums.
